Arena Match: Batman vs Scarecrow

Chloe wanted to close her eyes but she knew she couldn't live with herself if she did. "Bruce....don't die on me.' She whispered, she knew she could save him if he did die but she really didn't want to have to that unless it was her only option.

Wally could feel his eyes tear up. He felt really hopeless now, not able to do anything. "Damn it..." He said gritting his theeth as he gripped the railing his knuckles turning white.

Amanda kicked the glass that was on the railing, making it shatter and fall on the people below. "Come on!!!" She growled.

Jason growled, low enough for other people to hear. He couldn't, wouldn't speak. It was useless.

Scarecrow turned to Batman once more after the smoke cleared, "Did you know fears control your life Batman? Why do you think you're batman? Out of some... need to be this knight in shiny armor? Or help the innocent?" Scarecrow made a noise of amusement, "No. You fear so much in your miserable life that you escape yourself but wearing a cape." Scarecrow made another noise of amusement. He knew everyone could hear him, Batman was completely still in front of him. His plan was working perfectly, "Does you life scare you so much, that you feel the need to kill yourself." He added some extra weight at the end of his statement.

Scarecrow watched Batman attempt to throw a bat-a-rang but his arm stopped mid swing, "What are you doing, Scarecrow?" Batman growled out. He tried moving his body but nothing seemed to work. There was a gleam in Scarecrow's eye. Something he never saw before, "You're going to kill her, aren't you. That's what this thing is, you're just going to kill her. Be done with her. Is that what you want? To kill the only person that ever saw anything in yo--"

Scarecrow's blood boiled as he cut off Batman, "No. Shut up. SHUT. UP." Batman did as he was told. Batman tried to speak again, finding himself unable to.

"Yes. Jervis and that Singing man proved to be great people to learn from. Secretly of course. Neither knew I had studied them. But you're completely, bodily wise of course, under my control. You may have have been able to completely ignore Meister and Jervis just by sheer will alone. But you can't ignore pheromones, dear Batman." Scarecrow said, "Now you're going to take that bat-a-rang and slit your throat." Every word Scarecrow said seemed darker and more demented, "You'll kill her, not I. I can always extract your DNA to make a replica of her, easier done than actually said." Scarecrow thought a nice cackle would be in order, but he didn't want to come off like the Joker. So he'd sit there, actually moving a bit closer. A foot away from Batman, or the joyous sounds Batman would make as his last moments dripped away like water from a leaking spout.

Chloe sagged as she watched Bruce try and fight off that Nightmare guy, "Don't make me bring you back from the dead Bruce." She whispered. A huge part of her wanted to throw herself over the railing and deal with Scarecrow herself but she was hopeless.

Wally just stood there squeesing the railing to keep himself in the moment. He felt like this wasn't happening. "Please Bruce..."

Amanda heard two guards come bhind her, so she took two steps away from the railing, not wanting trouble. "BRUCE COME ON!!! KILL THE MOTHERFUCKER!!!"

Scarecrow almost squealed in pure excitement as Batman's hand shook closer to his neck.

Batman felt the bat-a-rang dig into his neck through his suit. He tried with all of his willing to move that batrang, it was few millimeters from his artery. Before he knew it the batarang with lodged into the neck of Scarecrow. Batman fell on to his hands and knees grabbing his neck with one of his hands to stop the bleeding, he breathing becoming ragged. He didn't even see Scarecrow slump forward his the ground in front of him. He saw the pool of blood that spread under his hands and knees. He wasn't sure if it was his own or the fear gas once more. Bruce's vision refused to stand still. Things moved around, spots grew wider in some areas and littler it others. He could hear the roar of applause. He must have been dead, he was just having an out of body experience right?

As soon as Bruce killed Scarecrow, Chloe had flung herself over the railing and into the arena, she had to be by Bruce, she had to make sure he was all right. "Bruce!" She screamed and raced to his side she was dimly aware that Clark was right behind her.

Wally heard the crowds were cheering, he looked down and saw Scarecrow dead. He felt happy as he ran down to the arena with Clark and the blonde woman. "Is he okay?"

"Yes!!" Superwoman made a celebratory movement. She turned around to face the guards, and just casually walked past them.

Jason jumped over the railing landing in a crouch, almost out running Clark and Chloe. Jason moved to the other side of Bruce, the man was bleeding through his hand.

Batman shut his eyes, he felt light headed. He was remotely aware of the people surrounding him with he finally went down. His world went dark.

Chloe met the newcomer's eye's, "Its ok I can save him." She said quietly before she looked over at Clark. "Clark we're going to have to bring him to the Danger Room that way I can use my ability." She said urgently. Clark nodded and picked up Bruce, "Just hold on Bruce." Chloe whispered.

He walked next to Clark, looking at the woman. "Who are you? And how can you save him?" He asked puzzeled. He looked at Bruces unconcious body before back at the woman.

Jason almost had the exact same question, "Bruce first, questions second. LET'S GO." He demanded.
