A Hero's Come Back

Batman slowly made his way to the Xavier Mansion. He looked at it, his eyes softening. He turned to the tree, his tree. He looked both ways, walking to the tree. He climbed up to the branch that was his and sat to think.

Clark was out looking for Brenna as he hadn't seen her for awhile, "Brenna?" He called. He stopped when he got near the tree and when he look up his eyes widened, "Bruce? You're back, but how?" He asked in shock.

Bruce raised an eyebrow, he was actually looking for Brenna. He jumped out of the tree, stumlbing lightly, "What was that, Clark? Happy to see me?" Bruce's face was unemotional as ever, except a slow smirk cracked his lips, "Yeah, I'm back and... surprisingly enough Scarecrow did it. I thought I'd be backseat to a confused girl for the rest of my life. Wanna know how difficult it is trying to tell a freaked out girl what to do to get fixed. Instead she kept freaking out, dunno why." Bruce shrugged.

Clark smiled warmly, "Its good to have you back, but I'll miss Brenna. So what was it like being a girl?" He asked with a small smile.

Bruce's eye twitched, "I told Scarecrow I'd kill him if he tried it on you... and being a girl? Oh my God... I..." he shivered, "So many thoughts in your head at once is not fun. Plus I think Brenna liked you. She certainly would not stop talking or thinking about you... unless she was thinking about me..." Bruce shivered some more, "Just, trust me. Give women their props, seriously." Bruce had gained a new level of respect for the women in his life.

Clark's eyebrows went up when he mentioned that Brenna had liked him, "So wait your female self....had a crush on me?" At Bruce's warning look he coughed,"Right sorry and I'm definitely going to respect women more." He said

Bruce nodded, "Don't act suprised, women do that. They trust their best friends and fall for them. It's just what happens..." His voice dropped, remembering how many times that had happened to him alone. He hoped Clark would keep his wise cracking, he could really need it.

Clark nodded, "Well I have heard I am irresistable to the opposite sex, I think its the underwear outside my tights." He said with a wink.

Bruce choked, a laugh escaping his mouth, "Maybe that's why they're attracted to us. Though I think I get the girl for being so mysterious. I think you get it because Lois Lane is your damsel in distress, and women hope that if they happen to be in those situations... I diffidently think it's not the..." he snorted out unable to say that word.

Clark raised an eyebrow, "The tights? Or no wait its the underwear isn't it?" He said in fake shock. He ignored the Lois comment as he no longer felt for her in that way.

Bruce shook his head, he laughed once more, "Geez, at least let me remove my suit so people don't think I, the ever stoic Batman, has feelings!" Bruce press a button on his suit, a normal blue dress shirt and a pair of black pants morphed out of his suit. He pulled off his mask tucking in his shirt.

Clark grinned, "I seriously need to get one of those, it'd make my saving people that much easier." He said as he sat down on a bench.

"Didn't I offer to make you one a while back?" Bruce said standing in front of Clark, folding his arms.

Clark laughed, "Oh yeah I forgot about that, did you make it?" He asked eagerly.

"Not yet, but I can make one. You'd just have to give me an outfit to merge your suit with... and maybe a new suit. The underwear look is quite disturbing." Bruce shook his head, a small smile creeping up on his lips.

Clark laughed, "Yeah I know, ma made it for me I don't know what she was thinking." He said

"I think she was making a cock-blocker. I guess it worked backwards, eh?" Bruce wondered why the woman had thought to make it, "Hey, Clark. when we get out of here... can we visit your parents. I'll bring Alfred to sneak my lemonade to."

Clark smiled up at ruce, "Oh yeah sure, ma will be glad to have you over. Maybe she and Alfred can have another baking contest." He said with a laugh.

"Oh, your mother is so going down." Bruce laughed lightly, "No, I'm not kidding, she's seriously going down." Bruce wore a competitive face.

Clark raised an eyebrow, "Do you want to make a bet?" He asked

"Bet? Doubtful. I'm not gambling with anything except for stocks." Bruce thought about Zsasz, The man lost all of his wealth to gambling and started killing people instead. He wouldn't run that risk.

Clark shrugged, "All right then, but who makes a better cookie?" He asked slyly as he knew Bruce liked his mom's cookies.

"Your Mother. She's the only woman that will get me to eat cookies." The word sounded odd coming out of Bruce's mouth, "But you have to admit, Alfred makes a tea and coffee."

Clark nodded, "Yeah he does, his tea is the only tea I can get down and his coffee is amazing." He admitted with a laugh. He sighed sadly as he thought about his home, "I just hope we can have that baking contest sooner rather then later." He said.

Bruce nodded in agreement. He paused, "You know... I miss this times. Whatever made us really lose each other? Was it the villains?" Bruce looked at him, questions in his eyes.
