Birthday Gift and... A Baby Gift? O.o

When they reached the mall, Storm let out a small sigh of relief, although her fingers shook a little as she remove her seatbelt. She waited a while before she got out. She didn't want Kitty to think she was that terrified of her driving.
"It feels like forever since I was last at a mall." She smiled at Kitty and hooked her as they walked up to the entrance together.

Kitty smiled over at Storm and nodded, "Yeah I know I haven't been here since...." She trailed off as she recalled the last time she had been here. The date with Lance that hadn't gone over very well until the end, but she knew that as fond as those days had been they were behind her. Besides she had someone who was willing to stay with her even when she was pregnant with another man's child, that meant a lot to her.

Storm watched Kitty closely. She seemed to be doing well but she has also been through so much. When she noticed a blush crossed Kitty's face, she leaned and asked, "What's on your mind? A new guy in your life?"

Kitty looked down and then smiled at Storm, "Yeah, Wade he uh has really helped me through everything. He's also going to help me when I actually have the baby." She said.

"You know I am still quite surprised that you and Wade have gotten so close." Storm said, leading them into a clothing store. "But are you sure it's really Lance's child? Have you well slept with Deadpool anytime after the... rape?"
Storm frowned. She hated to bring up unwanted memories.

"Alright, you can take your break now." Courtney announced, handing out a break ticket to Lance. "It's a 30-minute break, not an hour. Got that?" She glared at him and as he all but ran out the door, a small smile crossed her face. She was kidding herself if she thought Lance would actually be back on time.

Lance decided to spend his break at the mall. It wasn't long before he heard a familiar voice nearby.
"Yeah, Wade he uh has really helped me through everything. He's also going to help me when I actually have the baby."
I'd know that voice anywhere! Kitty?! He gasped and got out of sight, watching Kitty and the white-hair African-american teacher he remembered from the institute. He followed them into a clothing store.
"You know I am still quite surprised that you and Wade have gotten so close. But are you sure it's really Lance's child? Have you well slept with Deadpool anytime after the... rape?"
KITTY'S PREGNANT!? WITH MY CHILD?! Lance froze at the entrance and gaped at Storm's words. It can't be mine. There's no way!

Kitty glanced at Storm and sighed, "I'm sure its his Clark checked and I slept with Wade only once and he was protected." She said. It was difficult saying that and she blushed bright red as she remembered sleeping with Wade.

She took a designer shirt off a rack and held it up to Kitty to observe. She shook her head and replaced it for another top. Brown definitely wasn't Kitty's color.

"Well I'm glad you two are taking protective measures and I'm sorry if I am embarrassing you in any way. I am just concerned for you but I do know that you are an adult woman now and your choices are yours to make." She held up a hot pink shirt with frilly sleeves to study and almost gasped when she locked eyes with a familiar young man but shook her head and plastered a smile on as she turned to Kitty. "How does this shirt look?"

Lance moved to the male section of the store and picked up a baseball cap as he made his way to get in ear shot of the two. Why am I playing spy? Oh that's right! Because I may be a FATHER!! He groaned inwardly to him and hid among some pants racks.

"I'm sure its his Clark checked and I slept with Wade only once and he was protected."
What the fuck?! She actually hooked up with someone other than Alex?! Lance jumped up quickly to get a look at Kitty in his disbelief and immediately wished he hadn't. The teacher caught him. Lock eyes and everything. It took a second to move and when he did, he waved, threw the baseball cap on, and turned to go to the registers.

Kitty didn't notice Storm's reactions, "Oh um its pretty cute." She said as she examined it closely. "The thing is, Lance is dead now and I....I don't know." She finished lamely.

"Really?" Storm gasped and looked back to where she thought she saw Avalanche but he wasn't there anymore.
She frowned and looked at Kitty. "I think I'm seeing ghosts then," She laughed it off, "and that's not necessarily one of my abilities..."
She smiled nervously at Kitty. She could've sworn she saw Lance but maybe she is the one losing it. "I didn't even know he was dead."
"Did he die in an arena match like Catwoman?" She asked as she took a long cream colored skirt off a rack and ran her hand over the material.

Kitty frowned, "What do you mean seeing ghosts? Did you see Lance?" She asked and looked around as well. She knew Storm and if she said that she had seen Lance she probably had. "Wade killed him." She said quietly.

Lance paid for the baseball cap and a brown jacket and then headed out the store.
"What do you mean seeing ghosts? Did you see Lance?"
Shit. He thought as he slipped on the cap and jacket for disguise.

Storm glanced at Kitty. "Deadpool killed him?! Kitty, are you sure he's the type of guy you want to give your heart to?" She checked the collection of things she had and started heading to the registers. "Do you think it's too early to get a baby gift?" She frowned with a concerned face.

Kitty bit her lip, "That's just the thing, he feels guilty for killing Lance and I know I'm not an expert but he is sincere in his feelings for me. As for the baby gift, well I don't know what did you have in mind?" She asked.

"Well I hope that is true. We don't want another betrayal now do we?" She looked at the some charms as they waited in line. "Maybe it is too soon for a baby gift. I do like to know the gender when I go gift shopping." She laughed and when it was their turn to check out, she paid for both her and Kitty's things. "So anywhere else you would like to go?"

Kitty smiled at Storm, "No I think I'm good, thanks for taking me though Storm." She said with a warm smile.

She hugged Kitty and smiled. "It is my pleasure. I am so glad we got to get out like this." She said as the left the clothing store and headed out the mall exit.

Lance watched as Kitty and Storm left the store and decided to head back to work. He had a lot to think about. I CAN'T BE A FATHER. THERE'S NO WAY!
