The Touch of Death

Rogue walked out to the rightfully nicknamed Bat-Tree, hoping to maybe find Gambit waiting for her. She had almost begun to make this a habit, everyday around noon she'd walk out and sit for a while; if not one was already here mind you. She sat on the bench pulling her legs under her chin and resting her head on it. She watched the sky, the clouds making their journey across the horizon.

She walked out to the garden, breathing in the fresh air. She walked down the stairs and towards the tree. She was surprised to find someone there. "Well hello there." She said going to the bench and sitting down next to the girl.

Rogue's eyes moved following the woman that sat next to her, "Howdy." she said with her thicken country accent, "I 'aven't seen you 'round here before, I'm Rogue."

She smirked. "I just moved in. I'm Superwoman, most people call me Amanda though."

Rogue nodded her head, looking back to the area around herself, "When did you arrive?" She asked, quite curious. She tended to keep to herself now in days. It was a lot easier than trying to get to know people.

Her smirk widened. "Over a year ago. I think I have seen you before too." She said thoughtfull.

Rogue raised an eyebrow, "I must have a foggy memory then, I don't 'member you." She said apologetically, "I can't even keep track of time here."

Her eyes widened when she remembered. "Oh! Now I remember! You fought Catwoman." She said pointing to her.

Rogue stiffened, looking away, "I'm not proud of what I did. No child should live without a mother." She whispered out, almost wishing she could shrink away.

She nodded. "That is true, but we are in a game of survival. If you hadn't killed her she would have killed you. You shouldn't be ashamed."

Rogue let her eyes travel to the corner's to see a barely amanda, "I guess, if you think of it that way... sometimes I hear her in my mind. Telling me to go after something." Rogue shook her head, the woman would find her odd for saying it, but her friends would've understood.

She tilted her head slightly. "Aah, I understand, you can absorb things. So you can hear her huh?" She said remembering what she had done in the fight.

Rogue raised an eyebrow, the woman could read her, "She's in my mind, she gives me her abilities. Of course the collar cannot block what is not mine. " She stated sighed, "When I touch things I can do many things. One happens to be the touch of death, another I can absorb abilities, memories like I did with Batman, or even lost psyche's like the Black Queen. Of course they can possess me if they feel strongly enough about something." Rogue let her voice trail off.

She nodded. "That possession thing must suck. But I guess you could have someone worse than Catwoman in your head."

"Talk about having eight billion minds fighting within your own." She laughed out a bit awkwardly.

She laughed at her joke. "I see that would get confusing."

"It was, I was in a coma for quite a while. But, my mother used me to try to kill a baby. Against my will as I obviously couldn't consent to it. But the baby... cure me of them all. So, I'm good now." Rogue said, feeling a bit of anger towards Mystique.

She nodded. "That's good."

"What about you, what do you do?" She asked, having enough talking about herself.

She smirked. "I'm an Amazon. I can fly and I have superstrenght." She said not so modestly.

"Flying is fun, so is super-strength." she laughed out, only to be reminded of how she had the abilities.

She laughed. "It sure is. You have tried both I presume."

"Have the permanent ability, actually." She corrected the woman.

She nodded her head. "I see. So can you control your ability or is it always working?"

"I can't control it, that is why I wear a complete bodysuit. I cannot let anyone touch me." She stated, almost sadly. She had risked Gambit once, once... She shook her head, burying her face in her knees.
