An explaination

Wade walked into his and Kitty's room to see Kitty lying on the bed reading a book. Alive and well.

"Kitty. We need to talk."

Kitty hadn't really been paying attention to the book that she had been reading as her thoughts were on Wade. When he came in she bit her lip and put the book down, "I'm listening." She said and slowly got up into a sitting position.

"I think you need to read this." He said as he handed her the note, "It'll explain where I was tonight."

She slowly took the note from him and her eyes widened as she kept reading, "Why didn't you tell me?" She asked quietly as she looked up at Wade. "If I had known you were doing this we could have figured something out.....maybe." She said desperately.

"There was nothing to figure out." Wade told her. "I wasn't going to take a chance with your life. I didn't want to freak you out. I figured you would be pretty upset if you know you were about to die." He took her hand in his.

"I'll do whatever I have to do to keep you, Kitty."

Kitty bit her lip, "Even if doing so means putting your own life in danger?" She asked quietly, she hated feeling useless like this

"Yes. I'll do whatever I have to do to keep you safe."

Kitty squeezed his hand, "I love you." She said quietly, true she didn't agree with his methods but she did love him.
