Kitty had left Wade to train Shadow and decided to go to the garden, it was one of the places she loved going too. She spotted a familiar figure sitting down on a a bench and smiled, "Hey Rogue." She called out and approached her.

Rogue sat there and thought about what had been happening. She heard a familiar voice say, 'Hey Rogue.' She turned and saw Kitty. "Hello, Kitty." she said lightly, waving a gloved hand at her.

Kitty sat next to Rogue and smiled warmly at her, "I never really got to thank you for getting Wade back to me, so thank you." She said with a grateful smile.

Rogue looked down at the ground before nodding, "No problem." She looked at the ground, looking at the grass slowly move in the wind.

Kitty frowned, "Is everything ok Rogue?" She asked and bit her lip, she hoped she hadn't offended Rogue in some way.

Rogue looked up at Kitty, "Yeah, I'm fine." Rogue played with the hem of her gloves, looking back up at Kitty, "How are you?"

Kitty looked down and sighed, "Well my stomach is healing fast and they say I should be good as new in a few more weeks." She said with a small smile, there was going to be a scar from where Wade's blade had pierced her. "You mentioned that Wade tried to kill you, what happened?" She asked.

"I told him I was taking him back whether he liked it or not. We mutually agreed to a fight with no weapons. He was made because I cut part of his mask off and he tried to stab me, thankfully for Selina's flexibility... I made it out alive. And took his powers, I... I healed so quickly of course. But still." Rogue huffed.

Kitty frowned, that didn't sound like the Wade she knew and loved she thought "I'm sorry Rogue, I don't know why he reacted that way. Did he say anything strange while he was fighting you?" She asked

"Not that I remember." Rogue shook her head, unable to recall most of the fight.

Kitty bit her lip, she would have to ask Wade about the fight with Rogue maybe he remembered the details. "So how have you been?" She asked

"I got so close to having a boyfriend." She said excitedly, "But he left, after another girl. It was the last I saw of him." She whispered out. Her heart tightening, "He said 'I'll come and explain it.' but he never did. Since then I kind of... just move from the Medical Lab to here." Rogue looked down again, "Just... can't seem to work up a smile anymore."

Kitty winced in sympathy, "I'm sorry Rogue, I hate to ask but do I know him?" She asked curiously.

She sighed, "Gambit." Looked looked down, "I kissed him and he didn't die. Not like Cody did... I felt so right as well. But then he ran off..." Rogue moved the bangs from her eyes, giving Kitty a look, "Am I destined to be alone for the rest of my life?"

Kitty frowned and put an arm around Rogue, "No and don't say things like that, I'm sure Gambit is just busy or something." She said. If he's doing this on purpose I'm going to kick his butt she thought.

Rogue sighed, "Maybe you're right. Maybe I'm just... over reacting." She swallowed dryly.

Kitty squeezed Rogue's hand, "No you're not I'd be wondering the same thing too if that happened to me." She admitted with a forced laugh.

Rogue nodded, "Yeah..." Rogue felt horrible now, thinking about maybe Gambit was captured and being tortured or something. She wouldn't put it behind the Protectors to do soemthing.

Kitty frowned, "Hey, I'm sure Gambit's ok, we both know that he is a fighter and I'm sure he'll be back for you Rogue." She said encouragingly.

"You say that so... so assured. What happens if the Protectors have him? I've seen what they can do..." Rogue tighened her hands into fists, shutting her eyes tightly.

Kitty bit her lip, "You have to trust that he can take care of himself and I know that's difficult but Gambit can take care of himself." She said softly. She just hoped that Gambit wasn't avoiding Rogue otherwise she would be paying him a visit.
