In the Garden

Clark smiled when he entered the garden and led Diana to a bench, "This is where I kinda like to just sit and relax." He said with a small smile.

Diana looked around the area, "It's... beautiful." She said breathlessly. She looked up at Clark, "You can pick a pretty place, lemme tell you that."

Clark smiled sadly, "Yeah I used to come out here just to think about things, when Shayera died I uh was out here for awhile. A huge part of me wishes I could have been strong enough to save her, but I failed." He said sadly.

Diana looked at Clark, moving a hand to his shoulder, "Clark, there was nothing you could have done. Specially if these matches are guarded heavily. And don't spite Shayera's image by saying you could have saved her. She's a big girl, you know she could have saved herself." Diana squeezed his shoulders, "Things happen that are out of our control." She sighed, prophecies or not, things were very much control by outside forces here.

Clark nodded, "I know, its just that we loved each other and its difficult knowing that I'll never see her again. I'm sorry for coming out here and laying this on you....you're a good friend Diana." He said warmly

Diana paused, "Huh?" she asked quietly, "Clark, I don't know what you're going on about."

Clark ran a hand down his face, "Coming out here and talking about Shayera, I'm sorry if its an odd conversation that I'm bringing up." He said.

Diana waved her hands, "No, I meant you guys loved each other? What happened since I've been away?"

Clark smiled, "A lot has happened but what happened with Shayera wasn't over night. She and I were training in the Danger Room one day and she uh was about to get hit by a laser so I saved her. The next thing I knew I had kissed her and then from there our relationship continued to grow, she didn't want to be in relationship after what happened between her and Hal but she started dating me." He said with a little smile as he remembered their first date.

"Oh, alright." Diana understood finally why he was keeping some of himself locked away in a vault. It made sense. Diana continued to look at him, tightening her grip on his shoulder before dropping her hand and untying his arm.

Clark looked down at her confused, "Why are you doing that? I don't want you to get lost." He said seriously as he met her gaze.

Diana shook her head, "You just lost someone, I don't want you to feel uncomfortable around me because we know I'm more beautiful than Aphrodite and all of that jazz." Diana waved her hand away. Looking around the Garden once more, the sun high in the air. She shut her eyes sighing lightly.

He laughed, "You have a point about being more beautiful then Aphrodite, don't worry though Diana I'm not planning on allowing someone else that I care about get lost." He said quietly but firmly. He leaned over and squeezed her hand gently, and somehow he didn't have to explain why.

Diana looked at Clark, watching his hand wrap around her own. She let her fingers intertwine with his, "I know and I don't plan on going away or anywhere else soon." Diana smiled softly at Clark, in quiet understanding.

Clark smiled in relief, "Thanks for understanding Diana, now where too next?" He asked with a grin.

Diana shrugged, "You know this area more than I do." Diana giggled lightly, "Got any ideas, wonder boy?"

Clark snorted, "Wonder-boy? I thought for sure I would be Super-boy." He said teasingly before he got up, "Hmm would you want to go to the Danger Room next Wonder- Girl?" He asked with a laugh.

Diana choked lightly, coughing slightly to cover her fault, "Wonder-boy? I definitely said Super-boy." Dianacovered her mouth in a laugh, "Wonder boy sounds better anyway." She stuck her tongue out at him before pausing when he started talking again, "Uh... Danger Room? How about not, maybe save the danger for later when I'm much more vulnerable."

Clark raised an eyebrow, "Are you saying that you're a damsel in distress? Because I don't get that vibe from you." He said with a chuckle as he tried not to stare at her adorable expression for too long.

Diana tought for a moment, "Not the Damsel in distress, the princess in distress. It's like a Disney movie except... well I'm not a dumb blond with long hair that hits people with pans." she giggled brushing her bangs out of her face.

Clark laughed, "True but you do have a whip, only its not made of hair." He said with a laugh.

Diana raised an eyebrow, "Whip? It's a rope. And I could go on and on about it's awesome abilities, but I'm much too modest." She put her hand on her chest acting like she was acting posh.

Clark snorted, "Oh you mean like your ability to hold a baby?" He asked teasingly.

Diana frowned, "Oh come on. We were on a roll." she rolled her eyes.

Clark grinned, 'Sorry that was rude of me, would you forgive me Oh Sweet Maiden?" He asked with a little smile tugging at the edges of his mouth.
